How to Reopen Your Restaurant Safely & Profitably

Closing a restaurant due to COVID is undoubtedly stressful. With the uncertainty that this pandemic has created, it’s quite natural to have questions like – Should i risk reopening my restaurant? How will I communicate to customers that we’re open? Is there an option to manage with limited staff? How do I reassure that my business is ready to serve again?

For the longest time, restaurants have been the most happening places & important establishments that were a symbol for social gatherings. In these unprecedented times, when governments across the world are taking extreme measures to flatten the curve, restaurants must look for ways to keep their revenues floating & manage to stay profitable with minor adjustments. The need of the hour is to look for creative solutions.

We bring you a list of things on how to reopen your restaurants safely & stay profitable with limited means.

1) Increase Safety Protocols

Restaurants have always had the best safety practices in place. But during these times, it’s important to double down on the sanitation efforts. Restaurants must make it mandatory for employees to follow the safety protocols like wearing masks, wash their hands before and after preparing every meal. Maintain kitchen hygiene by disinfecting kitchen equipment, tabletops, door handles. It’s important to put up the safety guidelines that your restaurant is following in the form of a chart which is visible to the public. This assures the customers that your restaurant is following enhanced health & safety protocols.

2) Spruce Up Outdoor Seating

Opting social distancing strategies is crucial for any business to survive. With the chances of spread being higher in closed spaces, restaurants must look at seating guests in a designated seating area. Space the tables six feet apart and limit the number of people allowed in each table. Restaurants must avoid allowing guests in the waiting or bar areas. The waiters must wear masks, gloves and opt for no-touch serve and use trolleys that allow food to be served with minimal or no contact.

3) Start A Drive-Thru or Pick-up

First and foremost always have a small menu when you are planning for a drive-thru or pick up service. It reduces wait time for customers. Focus on the food which is easy to procure given the supply chain availability. Check for easily available ingredients and affordable products, and serve only the best selling items on the menu.

4) Launch Cloud Kitchen

Having an online presence has become most important during these times. This allows you to stay in business and generate revenue. It’s best to have in-house delivery service by opting for cloud kitchens and not rely on third party aggregators. This will help save costs. Instead try promoting your online business through digital marketing and social media channels.

With most restaurants now trying to slowly get back on feet and reopen, be patient if you have a slow start. We are hopeful that you will emerge stronger in the restaurant world.

Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique.
P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
