Eating Trends Post Covid

People will Eat…. the format will change.

In the post COVID 19 scenario, the current format that we were so used to over the years in terms of people eating out will change and will evolve.

Right now, by the look of it there seems to be a direction towards the home delivered food.

This format might remain there however there might be few more formats that might develop.

For example, Chefs going to houses to cook the food as per the choice of their discerning guests who wants to dine at home but wants to enjoy the full fare. Well this might be costly, but then cost is just a figure. If the want is there then surely the demand will also evolve.

Even if people visit restaurants, post COVID days, the concept of sitting in big groups or in crowded restaurant will no longer be the norm.

Guests will book their tables for smaller groups with whom they are comfortable with and sure of the health conditions of their co-diners. Then it would be more like the age-old Sit-Down Dinner format which will come into existence. The food will be served at the table by stewards who are well protected and hygienically sterile. It will definitely not be the sharing platters which gets circulated now days very commonly for group tables, it would be more towards the individual portioned dishes which would gain popularity.

The Big Portioned Indian Food Bowls and Platters which are now in vogue for small gatherings will die its natural death.

Probably, in the process people will be eating more consciously smaller portion to avoid two things – higher cost and wastage. This definitely would result in overall saving and lesser cost for the operators, which they can either add to their balance sheet or pass it on to the customer to make things more attractive.

To Happy Eating post COVID 19……
